Practice Better pricing: what each plan includes, its limits and how billing works

Practice Better pricing plan by plan: client limits, what Sprout, Starter, Professional, Plus and Team add, plus trials, add-ons and billing rules.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-29

Quick answerPractice Better has five plans: a free Sprout plan for 3 clients, then Starter, Professional, Plus and Team. They differ mainly by client limit, group features, program types, text messaging and team seats. A solo practice with a few clients may need only Sprout or Starter; group classes and branding begin higher up.
Practice Better is likely to fit when

✓ Solo dietitians, nutritionists and health coaches who want scheduling, notes, billing and video in one account

✓ Small practices that expect to sell programs or add a second practitioner

✓ Practitioners with a few clients who want to start on a free or entry plan

✓ Practitioners who want a built-in food database and a meal-planning link

Important limitations

— People who only need a free booking page

— Practices whose work is mainly insurance billing at volume

— Large groups that need a custom package from a sales team

— Anyone looking for professional or legal advice on licensing and records

Practice Better pricing: five plans, one of them free

Practice Better's pricing page lists five plans: Sprout (free), Starter, Professional, Plus and Team. The page shows a monthly and an annual billing view, and every amount sits on that live page, so read it from a US view with the toggle set to each option. This guide names limits and features instead, because those decide which plan you need. The page was read on October 29, 2026.

Plan by plan: limits and what each adds

  • Sprout (free): 1 practitioner license, 3 clients, 100 MB of storage, one invoice per client per month, booking page, note and form templates, journals. The feature table shows no built-in video.
  • Starter: 1 practitioner license, 10 clients, 1 GB of storage. Adds one-on-one video chat, unlimited invoices, the food database, the meal-planning link and 20 or more integrations.
  • Professional: 300 clients, 5 GB of storage. Adds group classes, group messaging, fixed-date programs, PDF branding, deposits and payment plans, Zapier and enhanced search.
  • Plus: unlimited clients and storage, plus 3 admin licenses. Adds self-paced and evergreen programs, portal branding, a personalized URL, 750 text reminders a month, bulk messaging and a dedicated fax number.
  • Team: 2 or more practitioner licenses and unlimited admin licenses. Adds custom roles, a shared calendar, team chat, team reporting, managed billing, 2,000 text reminders a month, onboarding support and free migration.

Add-ons and usage charges outside the plan

  • AI Charting Assistant: a paid add-on that drafts notes and records sessions, sold in tiers by session minutes.
  • Connector Hub: an add-on that links accounting, email and CRM apps, listed for Plus and Team.
  • ePrescribe: an add-on with a one-time setup charge, for practitioners who prescribe.
  • Text reminders, fax pages, extra storage and extra admin users: bought as credits or add-ons. Extra practitioners are sold on Team only.
  • The vendor's pages differ on which plans can buy credits and the AI note add-on: the pricing page says add-ons start at Professional, while the charting page says the AI add-on is open to all paid plans. Confirm eligibility for your plan before you rely on either.

Trials, cancellation and plan changes

  • Trial: any paid plan for 14 days, and Team for 30 days.
  • Contract: none. The FAQ says you can cancel at any time and can change plans at any time.
  • Downgrades: your total client count must fit the limit of the new plan.
  • Payment: processed at the start of your monthly billing cycle by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or Diners Club.
  • Switching in: the page describes a Migration Concierge service for moving records from another system, and the Team plan carries a free migration badge.

Which plan fits which practice

  • Sprout fits your first few clients or a trial run of the workflow. The FAQ describes it for students and recent graduates, and a callout under the plan cards says it suits students and people just getting started, so confirm you qualify.
  • Starter fits a part-time practice with up to 10 clients that needs video, invoices and a portal.
  • Professional fits a practice with up to 300 clients, group classes or fixed-date programs.
  • Plus fits a practice with no client cap that sells self-paced courses or wants branded portal and text reminders included.
  • Team fits two or more practitioners sharing a calendar and records.

Why the vendor's own figures can disagree

The plan cards and the feature table lower on the same page show different amounts, and the page has a monthly and an annual billing view that may explain part of the gap. Practice Better's Healthie comparison page also quotes plan amounts from an earlier access date. That is why amounts are left out here. Before you decide, check your plan, billing toggle and practitioner count on the live page, then compare with Healthie's plans and the wider software shortlist.
