Best software for nutritionists: six plans by client limit
The best software for nutritionists is the plan whose client limit fits your caseload: Healthie Core at $19.99 and Practice Better Starter at $35 for up to 10 clients, Kalix Standard at $27 for unlimited clients, and Carepatron Free at $0. Prices are monthly dollar figures, as read on October 30, 2026.
Rules on who may use the title or offer nutrition services differ by state, so check your state board and CDR, the certifying body for registered dietitians (RD or RDN). This is not legal advice.

Try Practice Better →Up to 10 clients: Healthie Core and Practice Better Starter
Healthie Core is $19.99 a month billed monthly, or $18 billed annually, for 10 active clients. Practice Better Starter is $35 a month billed monthly, or $25 a month billed annually, for 10 clients and 1 GB of storage. Starter includes scheduling, video visits, card payments, a client portal, forms and note templates. Group sessions and programs start on Professional, $69 a month billed monthly.
Practice Better's free Sprout plan, $0 for up to 3 clients, covers the first stretch but has no built-in video. Eligibility is worded differently on two Practice Better pages, so confirm you qualify.
Unlimited clients: Kalix Standard and Carepatron Free
Kalix Standard is $27 a month billed monthly, or $270 a year billed annually, and every Kalix plan has unlimited clients. Its client portal, app and telehealth start at Virtual Practice, $47 a month. Kalix lists ADIME (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation), SOAP and DAP chart note formats, with a one-month trial and no credit card required. Practice Better vs Kalix compares the two plan by plan.
Carepatron Free is $0 for unlimited clients, with telehealth and 1 GB of storage. Plus is $39 a month billed monthly, or $31 billed yearly, and adds unlimited storage and group telehealth. Carepatron bills each practitioner as a user, with a 14-day trial and no credit card required.
Very small caseloads: CoachAccountable and Nutrium
CoachAccountable prices by active clients: $20 a month for 2 clients, $40 for 5 and $70 for 10, with every feature on every plan. Its page names no currency. It is a coaching tool, not an electronic health record, and its trial is 30 days with no credit card required.
Nutrium sells an unlimited-clients plan and a plan for 10 customers a month, with a 14-day trial, and shows its prices on its own pricing page. Nutrium describes meal plans built from a food database and a client app that takes food logs. Nutrium alternatives lists other options.
When a nutritionist outgrows the entry plan
Count every client. Practice Better counts deactivated clients toward the plan limit, which can block a downgrade, while Healthie counts active clients and Nutrium's smaller plan counts customers a month. The next step up on monthly billing:
- Practice Better Professional: $69 for 300 clients.
- Healthie Essentials: $49.99 for 250 active clients.
- Kalix Virtual Practice: $47, with unlimited clients, a portal, an app and telehealth.
- Carepatron Plus: $39, with unlimited storage and group telehealth.
Pick Practice Better Starter when scheduling, forms, a portal, video visits and payments should live in one account for up to 10 clients. Pick Healthie Core when $19.99 for 10 active clients is the ceiling, Kalix when the caseload will pass 10 and a plan without a portal is enough, or Carepatron to start at $0.
Test the Starter limit during Practice Better's 14-day trial (Team runs 30 days); the sign-up asks for a credit card, charged at the end unless you cancel. Best health coaching software covers coaches who sell programs, and best software for dietitians carries the full list.
