Practice Better telehealth: which plans include video

Practice Better telehealth comes with every paid plan, from Starter, and not with the free Sprout plan. Monthly prices, billed monthly, as read on October 30, 2026: Starter $35, Professional $69, Plus $99 and Team $155. Practice Better pricing lists each plan's limits.

You can try video inside the paid-plan trial, which lasts 14 days (30 on Team). The sign-up asks for a credit card, and the card is charged at the end unless you cancel.

How a video visit works for you and the client

The client joins through the Client Portal, their web login for booking, forms, messages and payments. They must activate it and set up login credentials first. A client who joins early sees nothing to interact with until the practitioner starts the session.

Video works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. It does not work in Internet Explorer, Opera or Brave, so a practitioner who uses Brave needs another browser for sessions.

Group sessions through your own Zoom account

Practice Better's pricing page says its group classes can run virtual sessions for any size of group, while its telehealth FAQ says built-in video is one-to-one only and group sessions run through your own Zoom account.

Group sessions need Professional or higher, and Zoom sets the number of participants. On Starter, Zoom sessions stay one-to-one. In a two-dietitian practice on Team, $155 a month for 2 practitioners, each dietitian has built-in one-to-one video, and a group class runs on a Zoom account the practice pays for separately.

Practice Better says a free Zoom account is not enough for client health information and that Zoom needs a paid plan with its own signed BAA (business associate agreement) to meet HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Recording and AI notes from a session

Practice Better records the audio of a built-in video session only if the AI Charting Assistant add-on is on. Only practitioners can open the recordings. The add-on also transcribes and summarizes the session into a note that the practitioner reviews and signs.

It has three tiers, each per practitioner per month: $10 for 20 hours (1,200 minutes), $20 for 60 hours (3,600) and $40 for 120 hours (7,200). Extra minutes cost 2 cents each. The AI add-on is open from Starter.

When Jane or Carepatron fits video better

Jane sells group video as an add-on: Group Telehealth is $15 a month per practitioner for up to 15 participants, on top of a Jane plan such as Balance at $59 a month, per Jane's US pricing page. Carepatron lists telehealth on its free plan and group telehealth on Plus.
