Practice Better free trial: length, card and the first charge
The Practice Better free trial lasts 14 days on Starter, Professional or Plus and 30 days on Team, and it is for new users only. The sign-up asks for a credit card. The card is charged after the trial ends, so cancel before then if you do not want to continue.
After the trial you pay the chosen plan's price, such as $35 a month, billed monthly, for Starter or $155 a month for Team, as read on October 30, 2026. Sprout is Practice Better's free plan and is separate from the trial.

Practice Better turns four things off during a trial as fraud protection: importing clients (bulk or one by one), buying credits for faxes and text reminders, sending broadcast messages and enabling the DrFirst integration. A practice moving records in cannot try the client import before the trial ends.
Add-ons you switch on during the trial cost nothing until it ends.
Extending, canceling and refunds
A pop-up offers one extension of 14 days, whatever the original trial length. Canceling during a trial takes effect immediately and ends your access at once, so export anything you need first. You cannot cancel from the Practice Better mobile app, so use a web browser.
Practice Better's pricing FAQ says there are no contracts and a subscription can be canceled at any time. Practice Better's Terms allow refunds only case by case, its trial FAQ says it cannot offer refunds, and its annual-plan article says none are issued automatically, so plan on no refund. The Terms also let Practice Better change or end the trial offer.
Free trial or the Sprout plan: where to start
Sprout is a plan, not a trial. It costs $0, covers up to 3 active clients and has no video visits. Practice Better words its audience as students and recent grads on one page and as students and those just starting out on another, so confirm you qualify. The Practice Better Sprout plan page lists what it includes.
A trial user with 3 or fewer clients can end the trial by dropping to Sprout. One with 4 to 10 clients fits Starter, and one with up to 300 clients fits Professional at $69 a month, billed monthly. Practice Better pricing lists each limit. The pricing page also offers self-guided product tours before a trial.
Trials elsewhere: Healthie, Kalix and SimplePractice
Healthie offers 14 days on its Plus plan, and its page says no credit card is required. Kalix offers a one-month trial with no credit card required. SimplePractice offers 30 days that begin on its Plus plan, with no payment information needed. Jane says it has no free trial and offers a demo account.
Pick Healthie or Kalix for a first look without entering a card. Pick Practice Better when entering a card is acceptable and you want Sprout as a fallback. Healthie alternatives compares more platforms.
