The Practice Better Sprout plan costs $0, and its page calls it "Free forever!" It covers up to 3 active clients and 100 MB of storage, as read on October 30, 2026. An active client is a person on your client list, and deactivated clients still count.

Practice Better's help center lists these Sprout inclusions: booking and scheduling, a calendar, basic charting and session notes, one-to-one secure messaging, the mobile app, templates, document sharing, claims and superbills, and Practice Better Payments. Invoices are limited to one per client a month. The note templates library is on every plan, Sprout included.

Who Sprout is for: students, new grads and first clients

Practice Better describes Sprout as ideal for students and people just getting started in one place and as for students and recent graduates in another, so confirm you qualify.

Sprout is enough for a new practitioner with up to 3 active clients who needs booking, session notes, invoices and card payments. A newly independent dietitian with a first client or two fits here. What the Sprout plan leaves out

Sprout has no built-in telehealth, no programs and no branding, per Practice Better's help center. Neither built-in video nor the Zoom integration is available on it.

Practice Better's pricing page and help center disagree on whether Sprout includes a public booking page, custom services and reminders, so check the free plan against your list.

When to move from Sprout to Starter

Once you reach 3 active clients on Sprout, Practice Better says you need Starter or above. Starter is $35 a month, billed monthly, or $25 a month, billed annually. It allows 10 clients and 1 GB, and adds one-to-one video, unlimited invoices and a food database of over 600,000 foods.

The paid-plan trial is separate from Sprout: 14 days on Starter, Professional or Plus and 30 on Team. The sign-up asks for a credit card, which is charged at the end unless you cancel.
